Handy Dandy!
Tara & Doug moving the adjustable wall.
Kitten being the sweet baby Jesus she is!
Doug AKA "Handy Dandy"
Andrew mapp'en it out and paint'en the floor.
Today was a day of mapping it out! We slapped a fresh coat of slate gray paint on the floor, moved the adjustable walls in the studio...and forgot about the Texas heat with the help of Wendy's and a few adult drinkies.
P.S. WE LOVE OAK CLIFF!
HOUSE OF DANG TO CLOSE RETAIL STORE AND MOVE OPERATIONS TO NEW SHARED STUDIO
WITH TARA TONINI
DALLAS, TX - July 1, 2009 - House of Dang is closing its retail space on July
24, 2009 and moving its design headquarters and operations into a shared
studio space in Oak Cliff's thriving Bishop Arts District. After three years at their location on 4219 Bryan Street, designers Andrew Bayer and Doug Voisin will begin sharing a design studio with accessory designer Tara Tonini (designer of Tara Tonini and Tara to the T) at 411 Tyler Street. The new studio collaborative, named Studio 411, is 2,000 square feet, and will serve as The House of Dang and Tara to the T's design studio and showroom.
Bayer and Voisin will focus exclusively on their 4-year old own signature clothing line, House of Dang, and continue producing it each season. They are currently working on the Spring 2010 collection. The duo continue to sell their line at www.thehouseofdang.com with plans to grow their website and expand their lines into other retail stores.
The team will host trunk shows, movie screenings, and special events at Studio 411 and around theMetroplex.
"We're excited about the next step in growing our business and continuing to design House of Dang," says Bayer.
"The new space will be a prime outlet for us to focus and flourish," says Voisin.
"I'm very excited to be sharing a creative studio space with Andrew and Doug from House of Dang. I think they are the most cutting edge designers in Dallas today and they are going to bring a special kind of energy and magic to the Oak Cliff community."
House of Dang and neighboring And/Or Gallery will host a joint closing
celebration from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2009.
